MIXED MEDIA Jester Doll

MORE MIXED MEDIA

oK, Here is another mixed media doll. She is done in fairy paper applied to her torso, and legs. The photos don't do her justice, as she has swarovski crystals, and glittered wings. Her hair is a new yarn I found that fits her perfectly. Her wings are made of clay, then distressed and glittered in ultra fine glitter. She was fun to make, an is available on ebay this week. She sits just 5" tall and sits well alone.

MIXED MEDIA BUMBLE

In continuing to grow and develop in the art of dolls, I decided to try my hand at "mixed media". I found it fun, very time consuming, but satisfying.


The bee is made of osnaburg, then the paper and fabric work is applied, and sealed. The button jointed for posing. Then accents added. I am pleased with the results.

BRAG BRAG BRAG...ok so this is my daughter Shanna Maria, a singer in Nashville, TN. She is singing with the band "The Dempseys". If you haven't heard of them, they were the band in the movie "WALK THE LINE" June Carter and Elvis' back up band. Anyway...they are friends and invited her to sing with them.. neat eh?

After making my first Gingerbread cookie doll, Spice, I decided heck, why not sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies etc?? So here they are! They are for sale on ebay. TINIES

It probably seems dumb to take pictures with your dolls, but you can never really tell the size of a doll from the photos. I sometimes stick my hand in there to show how big they are, but decided to take a photo with me in it so you can really see. My husband said that the one photo looks like Spice is swinging at me with his spoon. He probably is since he doesn't care for his photo to be taken, he is camera shy.

from my new friend Brenda of My backyard garden...now there's an artist!!!

1) I am obsessed with making dolls, it is all I do and it is fun to watch them change and grow with each doll.
2) On my farm I have 4 horses and one miniature donkey called Jack, 4 dogs, 1 duck, 1 rooster watch dog, way too many cats... I bought the farm so I could have all the pets I wanted..and I do!!
3) I also met my hubby through a dating site, he contacted me cuz I had long hair (still do) and it was also just to be nice!!! the big attraction for me was his initlas "PhD" he is a scientist, wow I love his brains!!!
4) I play guitar and love to sing, used to be in bands and such, and on occasion enjoy karaoke.
5) I am a registered nurse, and work private duty caring for a girl with cerebral palsy who loves to watch me make my dolls... so see, I never have to stop making them!! ARE THERE MEDICATIONS FOR THIS?

It is interesting how you can start with a piece of flat, ugly fabric, and end up with a person!
